5 Disney Movies that Will Be #DadGoals Year Round

While Father’s Day was Sunday, we like to do things a little bit different here at the Divas Dish Diz podcast. In honor of the male figures in our lives, we’ve compiled a list of 5 Disney movies that will help you celebrate dad all year.

1.     Brave

Remember Merida’s signature bow? Her father gave it to her, of course! Despite her mother’s original intention of Merida becoming a proper princess, her father indulges her wild ways, even egging her on during the suitor’s contest. A true “Papa Bear” indeed!

2.     Mulan

“The greatest gift and honor is having you for a daughter.” This is one of the most emotional father-daughter moments in any Disney movie. Mulan takes her father’s place in the army and fights with all her strength to make it home, where her entire family, but especially her father, embrace her for who she is.

3.     Beauty and the Beast

Maurice raises Belle to be a smart, intelligent and brave woman. Their father-daughter relationship comes to a peak when she sacrifices herself for his freedom at the Beast’s castle. It’s a true-love moment and a testament to their close relationship that you can enjoy many times, especially now that you can own the live movie.

4.     The Lion King

While this might be one of the most traumatic father-son moments in movie-history (#RIPMufasa) you’ll get to see Mufasa guide and watch over his son as Simba learns what it means to truly become a leader and a king of the Pridelands.

5.     Finding Nemo

When Nemo gets captured, Marlin travels through the entire “Big Blue World” facing his greatest fears to get his son back. Not even three sharks can shake his determination. You can re-live their father-son adventure in both Finding Nemo and Finding Dory through the whole year.
